The museum was founded in 1900. On the second floor of the museum in Podřipské, visitors will find an overview of the history and settlement of the town and the region, starting with prehistory, which is illustrated by numerous archaeological finds and a model of a house from the early Stone Age. The medieval part of the exhibition is dominated by, among other things, the stone coat of arms of Bishop Jan IV of Dražice, which was originally part of the Gothic Elbe Bridge, the third oldest structure of its kind in our country. The natural history exhibition was opened in March 2010 and mainly features birds of prey and various species of owls that live in the Podřipsko region. In April 2022, it was expanded to include geological elements. The only part of the permanent exhibition opened in 2021 is located on the second floor of the museum and consists of antique vases and terracottas from the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague
