In the Landhaus, only a few metres away from Dresden’s Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), is the Dresden Municipal Museum. This building, erected in 1770 to 1775 according to plans by the court architect Friedrich August Krubsacius, is one of Dresden’s architectural showpieces. In four rooms, the permanent exhibition has over 1,000 items on display. More than twenty media terminals and many educational features create a variety of ways to engage with eight hundred years of history in Dresden. A number of film installations and a small cinema illustrate the changes that have taken place in the city over the past century.
