Friedrich Schiller traveled to Dresden in 1785 at the invitation of Christian Gottfried Körner. He enjoyed the harmonious atmosphere of Körner's vineyard estate. He often withdrew to the small garden cottage, worked on the manuscript of “Don Carlos” and completed the ode “An die Freude”. The Schiller Cottage in Dresden-Loschwitz, which was established in the second half of the 19th century, commemorates Friedrich Schiller's stay here. The unique location and documentation on Schiller's Dresden friends, works and admirers make the smallest museum in Dresden's museum landscape a special attraction.
