The Kunsthaus Dresden shows contemporary international art as well as work by young artists of the region. Discussions, film series, concerts and performances revolving around art, politics, pop and history provide especially the young culture and art public insights into current discourses and facilitate active participation in the same. The Baroque burgher’s residence with its permanent art installations on the façade and two floors of exhibition space is located just one hundred metres from the “Goldener Reiter” (“Golden Horseman”) statue. Contemporary art projects conceived by the Kunsthaus and developed in international collaborations can also be seen in the garden projects of plot 3 in the KGV "Flora I" e. V. in Dresden-Striesen as well as at and in the robotron canteen in the centre of Dresden.
