For over 600 years, mills dominated life at the northern entrance to the well-known Plauenscher Grund. In 1568, the Saxon dynasty bought the estate, built a court mill and operated it for over 300 years. In 1872, the burgher and entrepreneur Gottlieb Traugott Bienert (1813-1894) acquired the Hofmühle. Under his leadership, a large-scale industrial enterprise was created, the impact of which had a decisive influence on Pauen's urban development until the middle of the 20th century. One of the historic mill buildings has been converted into a museum. Visitors can expect a largely preserved monument with remnants of historical mill technology as a backdrop for thematically independent exhibitions with a local connection and occasional guest exhibitions. Permanent exhibitions: “Hofmühle - Bienertmühle und Plauen” and “Pallucca - Biografisches in Koffern”, “Baugeschichte der Auferstehungskirche Dresden-Plauen”, “Handwerkskunst” exhibition series (under construction), HANDWEBEREI - Eine museale Werkstatt mit 90jährigen Geschichte, KURT KLEMM - Kunstprägeanstalt, WILLI WERNER - Bäckerei und Konditorei, ANTON REICHE - Schokoladenformen und weitere dekorative Blecherzeugnisse
