The railway museum at the former Dresden-Altstadt railway depot at the foot of the Nossener Brücke offers a hands-on railway experience. The engine shed presents famous express engines from the Deutsche Bahn AG and the Verkehrsmuseum (Transport Museum) as they appeared in the 1930s. During special events, visitors even have a chance to ride in the driver’s cabs. In the "Sozialgebäude" building, model railway sets relating to the history of the Leipzig-Dresden Railway are on view. Refreshments and souvenirs invite visitors to linger in the museum bistro.
